ESTA form help: step by step explanation
To ensure that you get your ESTA authorization the first time and quickly, we have written this help page detailing the different steps of an ESTA application.
Note: You can complete your formalities on the Internet in a few minutes by clicking on the online form. To apply online, you need an electronic or biometric passport.
The ESTA application form
When you register you will be asked to enter your e-mail address. Make sure it is properly written and still functional as it will be used to communicate with you about the approval of your ESTA application.
The ESTA form consists of 3 parts, each of which requires different information:
1st part of the ESTA form: your identity
- Your identity;
- Date, city and country of birth;
- Your nationality;
- Your parents’ identity;
- Your employer’s contact;
- Your presence on social networks
Part 2: Your passport
- Your passport number ;
- The expiry date of the passport;
- The date of issue of the passport;
- The country in which the passport was issued.
The 3rd part of the ESTA form
It consists of questions with binary answers on a variety of topics (your health status, your legal history, etc.). Answer as honestly as possible because if you give false information, the chances of not getting your ESTA or not passing through customs at the airport increase.
Finally, all you have to do is fill in your bank details to pay the fees and complete your order. Your ESTA will be sent to you within a maximum of 72 hours after you have validated all the steps. Although printing the document is not mandatory, we still recommend that you print a copy before your departure.
If you do not meet the requirements for an ESTA, you will need to apply for a tourist visa for the USA on the Internet. At the end of the visa application process you will have to go to the US Embassy for an interview to finalize your visa application. The procedure is longer and more expensive than obtaining an ESTA.
